  • Video game developers now have a central resource for industry job ads in the shape of CVGjobs (http://www.cvgjobs.com). CVGjobs concentrates on UK and US job opportunities, but key international positions are also included.
  • UC Berkeley journalism professor Paul Grabowicz recently won a $60,000 Knight News Challenge grant to fund the development of an online video game, Remembering 7th Street, that recreates Oakland’s jazz and blues club scene from the 1940s and 50s.
  • China’s online game market is expected to reach $1.5 billion in 2007 on rapid growth in internet users and the launch of new high-quality games, according to a forecast published today.

  • The fate of the world is in gamers’ hands with the announcement that TRANSFORMERS: The Game from Activision, Inc., under license from HPG, the licensing division of Hasbro, Inc., has shipped to retail stores nationwide.
  • UK Video Game Chart: Forza still in first place
  • THQ on Tuesday announced the release of a video game based on Ratatouille, the new Disney/Pixar film. As with previous games based on properties from Disney/Pixar produced by THQ, the game is being released on Mac OS X as well as other platforms (11 platforms in total).
  • Video game sales are gaining and will globally exceed music sales by the end of 2007 reports PricewaterhouseCoopers.
  • In a nod to the content-creation strategy that made YouTube a phenomenon, Nintendo (NDOY.PK) announced today that it’s giving the masses a chance to develop video games and sell them over the WiiShop channel on the company’s super-hot gaming system, the Wii.
